Liposuction is used either on its own or as an adjunct to other body contouring procedures. It involves the removal of fat tissue by inserting long thin cannulae (tubes) via 5mm incisions and applying suction to these cannulae.

In this way it is the least invasive way of removing fat from different part os the body from just below the chin to around the ankles.

Even though liposuction is regarded as a minimally invasive procedure, there are still risks involved , especially the removal of more than 3 to 5 liters of fat.

It should be used primarily as a body conturing procedure to obtain a desired shape, rather than a weight loss procedure.
